im just tying to figure out what size of engines fit into my 1992 jeep wrangler. i have a in-line 6 in her right now. (it has a hole in the block and i was hoping to but maybe a small block V-8 into her. but really i would like to know what sizes and kinds of engines would fit.

Default Either stock or small block

I would suggest a stock replacement they are almost bullet proof but if you want more power. go with a small block chevy check out jeep websites for conversion kits it will not be a simple project

can bolt about any engine to about any jeep transmission made... though some swaps are harder or more expensive than others.

will say one thing though, an old AMC cj/wagoneer 360 will not go in a chrysler family jeep without an act of God and alot of money. make sure you know the total cost of the swap before getting a new motor

A straight six is plenty of power for a wrangler. If you want more power throw a better intake and high pfeformance exhaust on it.
