i recent started up a old 1977 mercury 85hp 850 edition, i got it runnings, it idles great but when it goes into gear it doesnt go so well, as soon as the throttle opens a slit bit you can hear it dying, im not sure but anny suggestions?

bottom end is perfectly fine
carbs have been opens and looks pretty clean
and runs all all cylinders
