I don't have a boat, but a friend was telling me about replacing a pump motor in his live well, and another motor used to ease his boat quietly into fishing areas.

I think he said both would be cartridge replacements. That sounded fairly straight forward.

Are a lot of the secondary motors in boats built into cartridges like that?
