My 1976 Chevy 3/4 ton PU spends most of the time sitting. I drive it less than 500 miles per year on average. Is time a factor in the breakdown of the oil in the crankcase, or is it strictly related to mileage? In the past I have simply changed the oil once per year regardless of mileage. Am I wasting my money or is it a good practice to continue?
