I have a 2004, 4 door Nissan frontier. The rear passenger side door is stuck and will not open from the inside or outside. Based on what I can see right now, which isn't much because I have not removed the door panel, the inside handle and lock linkages seem to be intact. When I move the door latch, there is tension and I can hear the linkages moving inside the door. The same is true for the locking mechanism. I have not removed the panel, because if I do, I will damage it, and before I did that I needed a couple of questions answered. 1.) If I remove the panel, will I have access to the door latch? 2.) Do I even need to remove the panel? Is there another way to access the latch and open the door? 3.) How do I get the door open?
I have received ballpark estimates from a couple of dealerships of $300-$400, so I am trying to do this myself. I have done work on all of my cars, but this one is a new problem for me. Any help getting this door open so I can fix it would be greatly appreciated.
