Thread: 4.7 jeep engine help needed bad please

2003 Grand cherokee 4.7 overheated, shut down no check engine or protection light inactive codes. Let car cool and ran like crap no water in oil no pressure in cooling system . Compression check 140psi in all but one. Rightside rear 45 psi, removed valve cover that hole exhaust valve rocker laying inside head,no damage to cam or rocker, so ok iguess ill pull the head, possible vave problem, remove all the junk needed to remove head, removed l/s valve cover exhaust valve on first hole cam out, someone please help. The rockers falling off on 3.7&4.7 are very common. I usually replace the lifters and the rockers. As far as the over heating this engine has a multi layer steel head gasket wich usually results in warpage of the aluminum cylinder head. The spec is 0.002. If you have a leak down gauge I would use it to check where you leaking compression is as the rocker arm falling off should'nt cause low compression because the valve is staying closed.
