Default correct power steering fluid for 2001 astra

Hello guys, anybody know the correct grade to buy if you are not getting it at a vauxhall dealer? My cousin needs to top up the power steering fluid on my 2001 1.6 8v astra, he think it has the TRW electronic pump, but someone says use vauxhall special power steering fluid.

the plastic reservoir is usually on the firewall down behind the battery. The steering pump is electric hydraulic driven, so if it's slowing up maybe it's the motor, or, use only Vauxhall power steer oil if you see it's maybe low on oil, just fill to the mark.
If it's filled with the wrong oil now, you will have to drain before refilling.

Stiff steering probably nothing to do with the fluid (assuming there's some in there!). Could be the steering pump motor, but more likely either the alternator or its drive belt slipping. The power steering requires that the alternator is working to operate - have a look at the wiring diagram and you'll see the connection.
