    Default Exhaust pipe

My friend's exhaust pipe has a hole between the catalytic converter and muffler. Does it have to be replaced immediately? How about temporary patches, could it be a good idea?

I think the best thing you should do is to bring your car to an exhaust shop and let them fix the problem. They could do the job much better and I think it wouldn't be that expensive.

Temporary patches is a great idea as long as you replace it sooner. Its not that much of a problem actually.
