Thread: Driver's door

My sister had a problem with her driver's door. When she tries to unlock the driver side door from the outside, the latch would unlocked but she cannot open the door from the outside. What do you think is the problem?

Wait, do you mean to say she can unlock the door form the outside but just couldn't open it?

The door handle spring or linkage is likely broken. Generally a difficult repair for the amateur.

Why not try this. Get a hard wire. Bend it to make a hook then hook the look from the outside.

Maybe the spring connected with the door lock has been unlatched from its place. It would need a mechanic's job and they have to undo also the door's panelling to get into the door lock.

Every time she tried to unlock it, yes, it did unlock but if she tried to pull it outside it was still difficult for her to open. Do you think her car's door need to be change?

Do you know how to fix it on your own? I think a plastic retaining clip has been broken and the lock rod must have fell out. You have to pop off the door panel and inspect it.
