    Default Windshield wiper

What could be the best thing to do when the windshield wiper pump doesn't work? The other day, when my sister turned on its switch, no humming sound was heard, which made me think that there could be a problem with the pump. Could it be possible to repair this one all by myself?

You are not sure that you can do it by yourself, so the best thing is to get it done by a mechanic. Maybe a replacement, not a repair is needed.

So, if it's a replacement that I need, do you know some steps on how to do it? I was thinking, if the procedures would not be complicated, then I should do it. If it is quite impossible to replace it myself, then I should go to a mechanic.

Here are some steps in replacing your wind shield. First, look on your vehicle's model in the reference books where wiper blades are sold. This will provide you to purchase the model of blade. Second, open the package containing the new windshield wiper blade. Third, examine the existing attachment (where the arm and blade meet), then find a new one in your package that matches it. Fourth, grasp the windshield wiper arm and pull up, away from the car. Fifth, remove the windshield wiper blade from the arm at the attachment. Sixth, remove the old attachment from the wiper blade and replace it with the new one. Seventh, install the blade onto the windshield wiper arm. And lastly, test by turning the wipers. If the blades slip, turn off the wipers and seat the attachment more firmly. What do you think?

I don't know about that. As far as I know its normal for them not to be humming when being used.

I thought the humming referred to was the sound that the motor for the pump made.

I think if I was having that problem in my car, I'd take a quick look at it but if it wasn't very accessible, I'd take it to my mechanic. Some cars require a lot of work to get at the parts you want to work on.

This is a very helpful steps, Warlock. I don't have to go to a mechanic for opinion. I hope I could replace my wind shield as soon as possible. Just in case it won't work, what should I do?
