    Question Starter life

How likely is it that a new, professionally installed starter would go bad within a year's time? This was installed in 1999 Toyota Corolla.

According to wiki answers, a car starters life expectancy is about 38 years, so you can expect your newly installed car starter to last about that long.

    Cool starter life

Starter problems can be either mechanical or electrical. What happens when you attempt to start the car? Anything? Does the engine turn over at all? Does it make any noise (click, grind, etc.)?
