Question Water pump failure due to radiator?

The wrong radiator was put in my vehicle after a mechanic broke it while doing a transmission flush. I didn't know it was the incorrect radiator until my water pump failed about 7-8 months later. After the new mechanic replaced the water pump, he couldn't get a connector that fit from the transmission cooling line to the radiator (the one that was put in there was manipulated to fit when it wasn't intended to....I later heard from one of the original mechanic's coworkers that the radiator was purchased from a junkyard). I have heard that this is the most likely cause of my water pump failing. Is this true? If so, how did it cause my water pump to fail? I have to go to court over the issue to try to get reimbursed for the radiator cost and labor. I don't want to ask for money that isn't owed, but I also cannot afford to pay for some one else's mistake!

    Cool Wrong radiator

Water pump failure is caused by worn bearings in the pump. Apparently the new radiator was keeping your car cool so it's not likely to be the problem unless it contained a corrosive substance that attacked the water pump bearings.
